Saw this Saab 9000 CS while visiting Bendigo (2.5hrs drive from Melbourne) yesterday, it is easily the cleanest example I've seen in a while. I'd say it's one of the last 9000's, maybe a 1996 or '97. Much nicer than the champagne '94 model I owned (non-turbo, grey bumpers and steel wheels, plus ugly larger spoiler). Do want!

I miss these old brutes. There are so many in scrap yards up and down the U.K., it's such a shame.
Hopefully at least parts of them will live on as donors.

Of course the headlight wipers are partially broken. :D Mine are currently stuck in a completely vertical position. They'll go down eventually.
The 2.3 low pressure turbo engine is pretty nice as well. The stock turbo can easily handle Aero+ level of power with a remap and the insurance peeps will never know. It's even more of a sleeper in non Aero guise.
That said, what the heck, Aero bumpers on a CS? I thought it looked weirdly clean, but couldn't put my finger on it. Never did work out whether the spoiler was available on non-Aeros, though.
Do you have any pictures of your old car? Champagne with gray bumpers and a huge spoiler... plus steelies? Sounds interesting. :)
I've whored my car enough on here, but still. I love it to bits:

I had exactly the same thought about the headlight wipers! The ones on mine were at least half broken the whole time I owned it.
I didn't notice the Aero-style front bumper until you mentioner it, but when I was putting the photos up I did notice it has the Aero's rear bucket leather seats. Very suspicious, though I don't know how easy these could be optioned up when new.
Thanks for sharing pics of yours, as far as I'm concerned you can whore it on here as much as you like!
I'll upload some pics of mine as soon as Kinja stops giving me image upload errors. The spoiler was not so much huge as inelegant (compared to the lip-spoiler on the featured car). I actually prefer the CS spoiler-free, I really quite like the shape.

They are becoming a much rarer sight here in Australia also (though they were never particularly common). Rust is pretty much a non-issue here, but as with any older car the mechanical problems start to get out of hand, the numbers start to decrease.
Mine had seen some neglect when I bought it, and I spent quite a bit getting running well again. Even then, the transmission was not smooth the whole time I owned it, which was one of the reasons I decided to part with it - fearing that it was one bad shift away from yet more expensive repairs.

How many Saab's you see is dependant on if there was a Saab dealer nearby, they usually don't stray far. For example in Albury they were every once upon a time but you still see quite a few even the newer ones for example the 08 9-3's. I've also noticed when in Melbourne I see a lot near Mentone probably due to the dealer. I've bought both of my 9-3's from Sydney though. The ones for sale locally seem much too old. So far whilst living in Albury I've had four or so neighbours who've owned Saab's. They seem to love them on the Border.
